Kiev (Ukrainian Київ / Kyjiw; Russian: Киев, Kiev) is the capital of Ukraine. Due to the numerous churches and monasteries, it is also effective in advertising Jerusalem of the north The designated city is also the largest city in the country. Ukrainian citizens and foreigners with long-term residence permits can get married at short notice in the registry office on the 3rd floor of Terminal D. Trains between 2 Boryspil Aeroport and Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi take around forty minutes. At peak times they run about every half an hour, otherwise every hour.
It also perverts SkyBus to the main train station in Kiev (behind it from Pivdennij voksal, 100 UAH) with a stop at the Kharkivs'ka metro station in the east of the city (60 UAH). The journey to the main train station takes between 45 and 75 minutes, depending on traffic. At the airport, the bus starts right in front of Terminals B, D and F. The bus stop (and / or the purple bus) are labeled POLIT.
The companies operate direct buses to other Ukrainian cities Autolux, Gunsel or Ukrbus.

Kiev-Zhuliany

You can get to the subway from the stop Olzhycha of the trolleybus 22 to Metro Dorohozhychi (Дорогожичi, Line 3) or by bus 78 to line 2, Vasylkivska.
There are several other bus and marshrutka lines in front of Terminal A. Most of these also stop at the intersection in front of Terminal A / D.
The 92H trolleybus is a night bus (23.00-5.30) that goes directly to Kiev Central Station. During the day you take marshrut there (luggage can be difficult) 368 or 805.
Parking spaces are mainly in front of A / D. 15 minutes are free, one hour costs 40 UAH / h and a maximum of 300 UAH / 24h. Those who fly from Terminal B can park for free with guarded parking, otherwise 390 UAH / day are due. Bicycle parking spaces are in front of Terminal A. There are charging stations for electric vehicles.

Direct trains run from / to Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest, Kosice and Vienna. The travel time here is between 22 and 32 hours, depending on the route. The price is around € 100 one way.
If you want to travel to Ukraine from Germany by train as cheaply as possible, you leave on Friday evening Gorlitz or Frankfurt (Oder) and go shopping Polish weekend ticket for 45 zł, with regional trains up to Przemyśl and from there over Lviv in 3rd class ("platzkart") to Kiev, which can all be done in 2019 for less than € 50, but takes two days and nights. If you want to go back like that, the Polish “REGIOKarnet” (75 zł, 3 days within 2 months, also during the week) is a little cheaper. Furthermore, almost all major Ukrainian cities can be reached directly by trains from Kiev. More distant destinations are connected by night train. - 8 Bus station at the main train station (Київ залізничний вокзал) (over the Bahnhofsplatz, 50 m, on the left). Rectangular space bordered by stalls and a large supermarket. Stops with written Ukrainian destinations, mostly to be reached by Marshrutka. The ticket offices are somewhat hidden in a niche behind stops 5-8, a little further the buses stop for long distances and the few international connections.
In the street
The E40 (Calais / France to Ridder / Kazakhstan) and the E95 (Saint Petersburg / Russia to Merzifon / Turkey) cross in Kiev. You should plan at least two days for a drive from Central Europe to Kiev. From northern and central Germany the journey leads via Krakow and Lviv or Warsaw and Korosten. From southern Germany, Switzerland and Austria the best route is via Budapest, Nyíregyháza and Lemberg. In the transit countries, the motorways are subject to tolls.

The city has a diverse and inexpensive transport system with the metro (subway), shared taxis (marshrutkas), trolleybuses, omnibuses, trams and taxis, among others. with the deepest underground stations in the world. A network system, however, is only just emerging, as a rule you pay for each trip individually.
The metro, colloquial too Pidsemka, transports you quickly and inexpensively to the city center and from there out of town. It runs from about 5.45 a.m. to midnight, at peak times every two minutes. To enter the metro, you throw a blue (also green or green-blue) plastic token into the machine lock (insert on the right, go through to the left), then you can drive around until you leave the lock again. The tokens cost 8 UAH and are available at the numerous counters or machines. There are no daily, weekly or stripe tickets, and the tokens are only valid for the metro.
The rechargeable and contactless ones, available in different types, have been available since 2015 Metrocard for a rental fee of 150 UAH. The latter can also be used in other modes of transport if necessary. From a top-up for ten journeys one journey costs only 7.70 UAH, from a top-up for 50 journeys only 5.50 UAH. There are also monthly cards for 610 UAH and half-monthly cards for 305 UAH.[1]
The transfer stations between the three lines have double names, e.g. B. get off the line M2 (blue) at the Maidan stop and change underground to the Chreschatyk station on the line M1 (red).
The Arsenalna metro station is 110 m below street level, making it the deepest train station in the world.
Elektrychka (електричка) is the "S-Bahn," which, every quarter of an hour during the day, connects many suburban and metro stations as a fifty-kilometer-long ring line with fifteen stops. Operation is from just before 6 a.m. to around 9:30 p.m. A ticket costs 8 UAH in 2018.
buses and Trolleybuses, operated by Kyivpastrans (Route and timetables), are slightly more expensive than shared taxis. Some also have the same number as this and drive the same route accordingly. However, you are also traveling more slowly. Tickets can be obtained from a ticket seller (conductor). The tickets (8 UAH, 2019) must be punched on a kind of stamp for validation. For buses and trolleybuses you can also buy tickets at the kiosk next to the more important stops, they also cost 8 UAH (2018).
Smaller towns in the vicinity that are not connected to the rail network can also be reached from Kiev by bus or marshrutka. Departures to the region are also available from:

Trams connect the satellite cities with the city center and shine with a particularly low speed. If speed is all that matters, then taking the metro is the better choice. However, the trams also have a certain charm. Tickets are available from a ticket vendor on the tram (Conductor). The tickets (8 UAH, 2018) must be punched on a kind of stamp for validation.
The two Schnelltram lines (швидкісний трамвай) have their own route network. To the left of the Dnieper runs the 13.2 km Livoberezhna Line (Лівобережна лінія) with seven breakpoints. On the other bank is the 21 km long older Pravoberezhna line with nineteen stops.
Marshrutkas (“Shared taxis,” yellow minibuses) have a regular service and cost 6.00-7.00 UAH one way. They run very frequently (some every five minutes) and are quite fast compared to buses and trolleybuses. You pay directly to the driver (who often feels like a descendant of Evel Knievel signing) by putting the money down or handing it over the other passengers to the front.
Taxis are of course the most individual variant. Fares are negotiated before the start of the journey.

If you order a taxi by phone or have it ordered, the price is agreed on the phone. This and the number / vehicle type of the car are then confirmed by SMS. At train stations or at the airport, where these taxis appear in bulk, you should always ask several taxi drivers about the fare to the desired destination, because there are sometimes large price differences (or the habit of foreigners to charge moon prices). In general, however, you always pay a “tourist bonus.” Haggling is always worthwhile - even if it is to turn around with the words “Sorry, I take the metro” and walk towards the next metro station - slowly until you get back to with a better deal Taxi is called.
Also the travel service provider Over exists nationwide in Kiev. Using an app, you can enter the desired route and you will be brought to your destination. The fare is often much lower than a taxi.
A 238 meter long Funicular helps to overcome a height difference of 75 meters in the Podil district. One station is at Michaelplatz, the other at the Metro Poshtova ploshcha (line 2). Hours of operation around 8.00 a.m.-10.00 p.m.
Tourist Attractions
If you walk along the central, three-kilometer-long Wolodymyrska Bolevard, you will pass a number of interesting sites. The beginning is in the Kiev upper town Andreassteig at the St. Andrew's Church. This was designed by the Italian in 1754 Bartolomeo Rastrelliwho also planned the Petersburg Winter Palace.
From there downhill it goes in a south-westerly direction. After about 530 meters you are past Sophienplatz with the Sophien Cathedral and the Bohdan Khmelnyzkyj monument. From here the course is parallel to Khreschtschatyk, 550 meters to the east. After a further 1,100 meters, it crosses Taras Shevchenka Boulevard, also an important axis between Bessarabs'ka Square (corner of Khreschtschatyk) and its end on Victory Square. This is where the St. Vladimir Cathedral, University and several are located Museums.
The 1.2 km long Khreshchatyk from the market halls across the Maidan is the Main street of the place. The buildings there were mined by units of the Red Army moving away in 1941 and then blown up by remote detonation after the Germans had moved in. After the war, the street was rebuilt much wider. On weekends and on some public holidays, the Khreschtschatyk is closed to car traffic during the day.

- St. Sophia Cathedral (Софійський собор), Volodymyrska, 24 (вулиця Володимирська, 24). The church, originally founded in 1037, was destroyed several times. Ancient coronation church, the palace was next door. Its design as a stone building after fire in 1697 in Baroque makes it an outstanding example of church architecture in the Eastern Church. The interior was designed according to the Byzantine model, there are 3000 m² of frescoes and 260 m² of mosaics that follow Byzantine models. Since 1934, the church is no longer used for liturgical purposes, but is maintained as a museum by the state. Castles, chateaux and palaces
- 4 Kiev fortress (Київська фортеця) (Bus 14, 15.Metro Klovska, line 3). In the 17th-19th built fortress. It served as a barracks and prison in the late Tsarist era. The semicircular building "Tower 1" of the Wassylkiv Fort, formerly a military school, with its forecourt is impressive just because of its size. There are other circular fortifications, such as the hospital fort. A history museum was set up in the vaults as early as 1927 during the Soviet era and has since been renovated.
- 5 Meshigorye (Межигорье), Novi Petrivtsi. After 1935, a government guest house was built on the site of a demolished monastery. Parts of it were made by the President Viktor Yanukovychwho also bought 1.8 hectares, used as a residence. Monuments
Monuments, as in all former Soviet republics, are numerous, often in parks. Apart from the Lenin Monument, which was devastated by political fanatics at the end of 2013, they were also looked after. At the beginning of 2019 there is a sign at the town hall which explains that the putschists of 2014 destroyed or seriously damaged 1400-1600 works of art in public spaces in the first two years after they came to power in an anti-socialist iconoclasm.
The equestrian statue of the Cossack hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi is well known. He led a revolt by the Cossacks against the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania and is revered as a folk hero in the Ukraine and depicted on coins and stamps. The statue with its granite base was inaugurated for the 900th anniversary of Kievan Rus in 1888.
Museums
A real museum district is located in the vicinity of the metro station 12 Teatralna (Театральна, Line 1). The area can also be reached via Taras Shevchenka Boulevard (numerous bus routes). It is located between the Bessarabia market halls and the Vladimir Cathedral.

- 7 Natural science museum (науково-природничий музей НАН України). One of the largest institutions of its kind in the world. - The end of the Bohdana Khmel'nyts'koho forms a small park with the monument of Soy Kosmodemyanskaya, a Soviet partisan executed in 1941.

- 9 Historical Museum of Ukraine (Національний музей історії України), Volodymyrska, 2. Dieses Museum ist am Postplatz, lange ein Zentrum des alten Stadtteils Podil, der nach Einrichtung einer Postkutschenstation (bis 1919) samt Gasthof zum Verkehrsknoten der alten Stadt wurde. In unmittelbarer Nähe ist die Talstation der Standseilbahn und der Bootsanleger.Geöffnet: Di.-Do. 9.00-16.30.
Streets and squares
Maidan
Der „Platz der Oktoberrevolution,“ wurde nationalistisch umgetauft in 37 „Platz der Unabhängigkeit“ (Майдан Незалежності, Maidan Nezaležnosti): Häufig auch nur Maidan genannt ist es der zentrale Sammelpunkt für politische aber auch friedliche Veranstaltungen. In seiner Mitte steht ein riesiges Unabhängigkeitsdenkmal. Es gibt eine gleichnamige Metro-Station sowie das Globus-Einkaufszentrum. Der Bereich um die Blumenuhr wird im Laufe 2019/20 in ein Denkmal umgestaltet und ist solange nur eingeschränkt zugänglich.
Berühmtheit erlangte der Platz auch in westlichen Medien als hier 2004 im Rahmen der „orangenen Revolution“ die demokratische gewählte Regierung der Ukraine gestürzt wurde.[2] Auch während den Ereignissen des sogenannten Euromaidan um die Jahreswende 2014, war hier das Zentrum der Auseinandersetzungen.
Podil: Andreassteig
1 Andreassteig (Андріївський узвізAndriivskij Usvis): Diese Fußgängerzone führt in einem steilen Abstieg vom Stadtteil Podol, nahe dem Platz bei der Katharinenkirche beginnend, vorbei an der Andreaskathedrale (Андріївська церква) Richtung St. Michaelskloster. Entlang des Abstieges finden sich einige alte Häuser, darunter das Wohnhaus von Michail Bulgakow (Museum). Touristische Bedürfnisse erfüllen einige Kneipen sowie zahlreiche Souvenirstände. The 38 Eine-Straße-Museum (Музей однієї вулиці, Haus 25 im oberen Abschnitt, widmet sich der lokalen Geschichte.
Geht man nicht den ganzen Weg hinab, sondern biegt nach der scharfen Kurve bei erster Gelegenheit rechts ab gelangt man in die Vozdvizhenka. Diese Ecke der Stadt war vor einigen Jahren unter den Neureichen als aufstrebendes Wohnviertel sehr beliebt, bis die Blase platzte. Zurückgeblieben sind einige sehr ungewöhnliche und teils unfertige Bauten.
Parks
Sehenswert ist der 39 Marianski Park, der sich nördlich am Dnjeprufer befindet. Er liegt direkt in der Nähe der Metrostation Arsenalna (Арсенальна, Linie 1; tiefste Station der Welt: 110 m unter der Erde). Mitten im Park befindet sich das ukrainische Gesundheitsministerium. Man sollte sich nicht täuschen lassen, der Park ist hier noch lange nicht zu Ende. Er zieht sich bis zum Bogen der Freundschaft entlang der Hügel. Es gibt einen Aussichtspunkt. Eine Seite ist durch den Marienpalast (Маріїнський палац) und das Parlamentsgebäude (Верховна Рада України) begrenzt.
- Botanische Gärten
Kiew hat zwei botanische Gärten. Der kleinere befindet sich unmittelbar hinter der Metrostation Universität. Es handelt isch eher um einen waldähnlichen Park, der wissenschaftlich nicht mehr betreut wird. Man hat ihn sehr schnell erkundet, wenn man gerade in der Nähe ist, aber er ist definitiv einen Abstecher wert – besonders im Frühjahr. Eintritt frei.
Der zweite, der 42 Nationale botanische Garten (Національний ботанічний сад ім.М.М.Гришка) bei Druzhby Narodiv an der Tymiriazievska St, ist wirklich riesig und mit den Bussen 14, 62, 62K erreichbar. Er ist täglich von 8.30-21.00 Uhr geöffnet und sehr hübsch auf einem der Hügel am Dnjepr gelegen und gut thematisch gegliedert. Besonders interessant sind der riesige Rosengarten und die Halle für Orchideen und Tropenpflanzen. Ein Teil ist als koreanischer Garten ausgestaltet. Sogar eine zierliche Kirche mit einem sehr abwechslungsreichen Glockenspiel hat sich in den Park verirrt. Im Gelände ist das St. Jonas-Dreifaltigkeitskloster (Свято-Троїцький Іонінський монастир). Beim Hinterausgang zum Fluß ist das St.-Michaels-Kloster.

Der kiewer Fernsehturm (Телевізійна вежа) ist mit 385 Metern der höchste freistehende Stahlfachwerkturm der Welt. Er kann allerdings von Touristen nicht besucht werden.

Die Weihnachtssaison, mit entsprechenden Märkten beginnt traditionell am Wochenende vor dem orthodoxen Nikolaustag am 19. Dezember. Zentrum der Veranstaltungen ist vor der Sophienkathedrale wo auch der „nationale Weihnachtsbaum“ aufgestellt wird. Weihnachten nach dem julianischen Kalender, den die orthodoxe Kirche weiter verwendet, ist am 7. Januar.

- The Atlas Weekend geht vier Tage über ein Juli-Wochenende. 2019 kosten die Tickets 1900 UAH, Camping extra. Veranstaltungsort ist das Expocenter.
- The BeLive im NSC Olymypsky-Stadion bietet nicht nur Musik, sondern auch Kino, Comedy usw. Es dauert im Juli ebenfalls vier Tage.
- An dem Wochenende am nächsten zum 6. Juli, dem Iwan-Kupala-Tag treffen sich Volksmusiker u.ä. im Freilichtmuseum traditioneller Architektur.
- The Gogolfest mit moderner Kunst und Kino findet in der ersten Septemberhälfte statt und dauert zehn Tage.

Die Kette Auchan, mit sehr großen Märkten hat diese in der Nähe von Hauptverkehrsstraßen außerhalb der Innenstadt gebaut. Silpo dagegen konzentriert sich auf den Stadtbereich, wobei die Preise in einzelnen Filialen unterschiedlich sein können. Weitere Ketten sind ATB, Belmarket, Billa, Furshet and MegaMarket.

Restaurants, selbst der mittleren Kategorie, haben es gerne wenn man, besonders abends, reserviert.
Es gibt inzwischen zahllose Möglichkeiten „international“ zu essen. Besonders „Italiener“ sind zahlreich zu finden, wobei das Angebot nicht immer auf Pizza und Spaghetti beschränkt bleibt. Amerikanische Hamburgerbrater gibt es leider auch, die einheimischen Imitatoren sind in der Regel qualitativ besser.
Cheap
- Khachapuri & Wein (Хачапурі та Вино) ist eine Kette günstiger georgischer Restaurants. Die Adressen der Filialen, meist zentral bei der Metro, findet man auf der Webseite. Englische Speisekarten sind vorhanden.
- Mafia ist eine landesweite Kette. Auf der Karte steht ein asiatisch-italienischer Mix. Sushi, Pizza, Pasta, Nudelsuppen und Eintöpfe. Mittagsmenüs bis 17 Uhr, 2 Gänge: 99 UAH, 3 Gänge: 129 UAH. Italienische Flaschenweine einfacher Qualität, deutlich besser sind die georgischen zum gleichen Preis.
- Puzata Hata ist eine Kette von günstigen Kantinen. Sättigende Küche ohne Schnörkel mit Selbstbedienung.
- 1 Berliner Döner, Tarasa Schewtschenka, 31. Unterscheidet sich trotz des Namens kaum von ukrainischen Schwarma-Buden, ist aber gepflegt und hat Bier vom Fass. Wer wiklich Heimweh hat, kann es zwei Türen weiter im Beck's BeerLoft & 7Cамураев versuchen.Geöffnet: 11.00-22.00.

Man betreibt auch seine eigene Internet-Radiostation, OB Radio. Pseudo-rustikal ist das Gewölbe „Provinz,“ die Hocker an der Theke der Bar („Getränke-Apotheke“) imitieren die Form von Pferdehintern.Geöffnet: 11.00-23.00.Preis: Business Lunch 105-140 UAH; Wareniki je nach Füllung 70-100 UAH; Hauptgerichte 200-300 UAH.
Zahlreiche Restaurants findet man in Podol, das über den Andreassteig zu erreichende Viertel, das nach dem Brand 1811 mit rechtwinkligen Straßen angelegt wurde und zur Sowjetära baulich kaum verändert wurde. Hier ist auch das 8 Kanapa (Andreassteig, 19. 10.00-24.00), dessen modernisierte ukrainische Küche 2018 die Gnade der Michelin-Herausgeber gefunden hat. Die Preise sind für ukrainische Verhältnisse hoch, günstige Menüs kosten 1000 UAH.
Etwas billiger, aber immer noch gehoben, ist das interessant möblierte Za Dvoma Zaytsyamy (За двома зайцями; Hausnr. 34). Im Nebengebäude 34Б ist das Cafe Baguette (За двома зайцями; 11.00-23.00) – wie der Name andeutet, spezialisiert auf Französisches.
Cafés und Kneipen
Es gibt eine große Menge von Cafés und Kneipen, viele davon gehören allerdings zu Ketten und lassen individuellen Flair missen. Die Szene ist und bleibt sehr volatil, so dass es wenig sinnvoll ist Empfehlungen zu geben. Es ist einfacher sich vor Ort umzuhören, oder vom eigenen Gefühl leiten zu lassen.
Wer auf die Schnelle einen Koffeinstoß braucht, findet im ganzen Stadtbereich „Kaffeautos,“ das sind Kombis, bei denen auf der Ladefläche eine Espressomaschine steht. Die „Luxus“-Version sind „Kaffeebusse“ in denen dann noch ein paar Sitzplätze sind.
- Eine angenehme Ausnahme bildet das schon seit längerer Zeit bestehende, kleine Café 9 Living-Room (Spas'ka 6; nahe der Metro Kontraktova Plošča, Podol'). Der originell eingerichtete Ort wird von einigen Musikern betrieben, zwei Klaviere und andere bereitliegende Musikinstrumente laden ein, spontan loszuspielen. Auch liegen Bücher und Zeitungen in verschiedenen Sprachen, darunter auch Deutsch, aus. Während die meisten Cafés schon um 22.00 Uhr schließen, hat der Living-Room so lange auf, wie die Tresenschicht Lust hat. Neben exzellentem Kaffee werden diverse sehr leckere Teesorten angeboten.

- Druzi hat drei Filialen, die sich besonders zu Mittag eignen. Die Firma betreibt auch eine Hostel und betreibt eine Vermietungsagentur.
nightlife
Offiziell ist der Genuß von Alkohol auf der Straße untersagt. Wenn man es nicht übertreibt, schreiten Ordnungskräfte aber kaum ein.
In Nachtclubs ist es üblich, dass man fürs Hinsitzen bezahlt. Das kann in Form eines „gemieteten“ Tischs für eine Gruppe oder einen einzelnen Barhocker geschehen, wobei dann eine gewisse Menge Getränke inklusive sein können.
Striptease ist routinemäßig Teil des Nachtlebens und nicht unbedingt ein Zeichen, dass man in eine Absteige geraten ist. Prostitution, so sie stattfindet, wird eher diskret in Bars, Hotellobbys o.ä. angebahnt.
Oper, Theater und Konzertsäle
Theater machen Sommerpause. Alle diese Kultureinrichtungen liegen im Zentrum:
The 6 Taras-Schewtschenko-Oper (Wolodymyrska, 50). 7 Kiewer Nationales akademisches Theater der Operette (Welyka Wassylkiwska). Auf dem Iwan-Franko-Platz 3 steht das 8 Nationale Iwan-Franko-Schauspielhaus. The 9 Philharmonie der Ukraine am Chreschtschatyj-Park.
Spielbanken
Nach einem Brand mit neun Toten in einer Automatenspielhalle wurde 2009 Glücksspiel (außer Lotterien) verboten. Im Jahr darauf erkannte man Poker als legitimen „Sport” an. Seit 2015 wird die Wiederzulassung diskutiert, der entsprechende Gesetzesentwurf aber bis Ende 2018 nicht verabschiedet. All das bedeutet nicht, dass in Kiew keine Tischglücksspiele angeboten werden. Man findet, wenn man (nicht einmal zu intensiv) sucht. Wie es um die Seriosität der Betreiber steht ist eine andere Frage. Einige der entsprechenden „Clubs“ ziehen nicht nur die Spieler aus, sondern bieten zugleich Damen, die sich ausziehen wenn der Preis stimmt.

Die Stadt erhebt eine Übernachtungssteuer von 1%.
Es gibt in Kiew (noch) mehrere Agenturen, die Privatwohnungen als Kurzzeitunterkünfte vermitteln. In der Regel versteht man zumindest Englisch. Üblich ist die Vorauszahlung einer Nacht bei Buchung (per Kreditkarte). Zwar gibt es Schnäppchen für 300 UAH, realistischerweise muß man aber 2018 mindestens ab 500 UAH, bei besseren Objekten auch deutlich mehr ansetzen. Preise werden gerne in Dollar angegeben (und dann zu einem schlechten Kurs umgerechnet).
Wer einige Monate eine Wohnung mieten möchte wird Schwierigkeiten haben und sich wegen der hohen Preise wundern. Die Ursache liegt darin, dass mit dem Zusammenbruch der Sowjetunion 95% der Bewohner zu Eigentümern ihrer Wohnungen wurden und ein Mietmarkt als solches nur in sehr geringem Umfang besteht.
Cheap
Wie in allen größeren Städten der zerfallenen Sowjetunion begannen Privatpersonen Zimmer zu vermieten. In vielen Fällen sind daraus inzwischen oft richtiggehende Hostels (mit Schlafsaal) entstanden, die zu sehr günstigen Preise Übernachtungen anbieten, auch deshalb da der Konkurrenzdruck weiterhin groß bleibt. Es gibt 2018 in Kiew deutlich mehr als einhundert derartiger Unterkünfte (Übersicht), Preise liegen in dieser Kategorie bei 130-230 UAH.
Gerade in einfacheren Unterkünften ist oft die Benutzung einer Waschmaschine gegen geringe Gebühr möglich.
Darüber hinaus kann man in der ganzen Innenstadt preisgünstig (ca. 1.200 - 1.500 UAH) ganze Wohnungen mieten. Die Qualität dieser ist oft schwankend, so kann man genauso eine sehr gut sanierte Wohnung bekommen, als auch eine unrenovierte "Bruchbude".

Grundsätzlich hat sich die Sicherheitslage in Kiew und auch dem Rest der Ukraine im letzten Jahrzehnt verbessert und ist nicht schlechter als in westeuropäischen Großstädten. Die Polizei und die Miliz zeigen Tag und Nacht Präsenz. Unverändert ist Korruption der polizeilichen Staatsorgane, besonders bei der Verkehrspolizei, in der Ukraine ein großes Problem. Trukhaniv Island
