The Central bus station in Munich (short: Munich central bus station) is a bus station of the inner-German as well as the international long-distance bus services in the center of the Bavarian State capital Munich and one of the largest long-distance bus stations in Germany.

background

The bus station opened in September 2009 and has 29 bus platforms. The central bus station gained in importance in 2012, when long-distance buses were also approved by the legislator for travel within Germany. Before that, long-distance bus travel was only possible internationally and to and from Berlin. Up until 2012, Eurolines, a Europe-wide association of national bus companies, was one of the main providers of long-distance bus services. In addition to Eurolines, the ZOB is now also served by Flixbus, IC-Bus, BlaBlaBus and Sindbad. Deutsche Touring, the German-based partner of the Eurolines Group, has now been taken over by the Croatian company Croatia-Bus.
