Old parish church
Inside
  • Old parish church, built at the end of the 13th century, the bells mostly come from the 17th century. Since the Second World War and after the completion of the new parish church, it has been converted into a memorial for the fallen. The late medieval fresco of the apocalypse on the choir arch is well worth seeing.

Both churches are at the castle near the center of the village, more information at Parish.

  • Grünwalder Bridge:
Grünwalder Bridge
The first bridge over the two arms of the Isar was completed in 1904, at the time it was the one with a total span of 70 meters for the two arches largest reinforced concrete bridge in the world. The planning was done by Ludwig Zöllner and Emil Mörsch, both German and European pioneers in reinforced concrete construction.
Towards the end of the Second World War, one of the bridge arches was blown up by SS units. The bridge, which was then renovated, had to be demolished later because of further structural damage, because of the movements underground and at that time against resistance from the population.
The current bridge structure was built between 1998 and 2001 and its construction was mixed with arches made of steel and a concrete deck.
