Kifisià (Κηφισιά) is a city ofAttica in Greece.
To know
Kifisià is a district in the northern area of Athens, on the western slopes of Mount Penteli, appreciated for its greenery and its climate, less dry and cooler than in the rest of Athens, with even surprising differences in July (4-5 ° C difference) with the center of Athens.
In ancient times a summer holiday destination for the Athenians, today it is a large and very rich residential area: it is the place of residence of various politicians, industrialists and show business people. It is also a popular entertainment and shopping destination, with many trendy boutiques, shopping malls, night clubs, multiplex cinemas and a bowling center.
Background
Under the reign of Hadrian the city became an important artistic and philosophical center, thanks also to the famous rhetorician Herodes Atticus who moved here building Villa Kifisià and giving free lessons to young offspring selected from the best Athenian families. , since the years immediately following independence it began to be a summer holiday destination for the notables of the new Greek state. With the arrival of the railway in 1885 the area became a popular destination and wealthy Athenian families began to frequent it assiduously building villas and second homes, creating a unique architectural environment where villas in the most unusual styles proliferated.

Safety
Kifisià is very safe. Being a very affluent residential neighborhood far from the most popular suburbs of the city, it is little touched by crime, which is practically absent. However, it is recommended to be careful at the subway station, where occasional, but rare, bag snatching (as in all subway stations around the world) cannot be excluded. Kifisià is also safe in the evening, so the various restaurants and clubs in Kefalari or in the center of Kifisià can be visited without problems even late at night.
