The Kohrener Land is a landscape and tourist region at the transition of the Central Saxon hill country in the Leipzig lowland bay.

By train
Frohburg and Geithain are served by the S 6 of the Central German S-Bahn from Leipzig (via City-Tunnel and Borna) (travel time from Leipzig Hbf 50–60 minutes). In Geithain and Narsdorf there is a connection to regional trains on the Leipzig – Chemnitz route (journey time from Leipzig Hbf 35–45 minutes, from Chemnitz Hbf 20–30 minutes).
In the street
The A 72 motorway runs through the Kohrener Land from Hof and Chemnitz to Leipzig, with the Rochlitz, Geithain or Borna-Süd junctions. Cross connections are provided by the B 7 Altenburg–Rochlitz (via Geithain) and the B 175 Glauchau–Rochlitz (via Narsdorf).
By bicycle
The Leipzig-Chemnitz cycle route (via Geithain and Narsdorf) and the Altenburg-Colditz cycle route (via Kohren-Sahlis and Frohburg) lead through Kohrener Land. It is just under 50 km from Leipzig and around 40 km from Chemnitz.
On foot
The 200 km long "pilgrimage route" Via Porphyria leads through the Kohrener Land. On it you can z. B. from Rochlitz or Penig wander here.

The Kohrener Land belongs to the Central German Transport Association (MDV) at. All network tickets are valid on regional trains / S-Bahns and buses in the respective tariff zone (s). The Saxony (Saxony-Anhalt / Thuringia) ticket is also recognized by all public transport in the mdv. If you only want to travel by train to other means of transport without authorization to transfer, you can also purchase tickets at the DB tariff using BahnCard discounts (exception: within the city of Leipzig and for Leipzig-Halle).
