Kornwestheim is a small town in Strohgäu. The district town is to the north Ludwigsburg, in the south is the state capital Stuttgart.

The place was first called around 780 Westheim mentioned, from the 16th century he is called Kornwestheim known. In 1931 Kornwestheim received city rights, and since 1956 it has been a major district town. Part of the settlement belongs to Kornwestheim today Pattonville, which was built by the Americans in 1954 as a housing estate for members of the US Army.
The headquarters of the shoe factory was in Kornwestheim salamander, known mainly to children because of the cartoon character Lurchi, the former company premises are now used as a factory outlet.

S-Bahn trains of the S4 (direction Marbach or Backnang) and S5 (direction Bietigheim-Bissingen), which can be reached from Stuttgart main station (deep), stop at the passenger station. This route takes about 12 minutes, and it takes another 2 minutes to get to Ludwigsburg. A ticket costs 4 € (as of 9/2016).

Evangelical Church built between 1516 and 1524, the nave was rebuilt in 1967/68 with new church windows by the artists Rudolf Yelin and Kohler and a new organ. Hall church with an organ with 2,000 pipes and 25 registers, Friedrich Weigle organ building, in the choir room. Entrance on the south side with Württemberg (left) and Bebenhauser coats of arms. On the south side a memorial plaque for Pastor Philipp Matthäus Hahn (1739–1790) and a memorial stone for Jacob Böhmler (1460–1500). With a 45 meter high church tower and with a park and Lutheran oak. The oak was planted in the former churchyard on November 10, 1883 for the 400th birthday of Martin Luther.

- 5 Schafhof manor house, Badstr. 12, 70806 Kornwestheim, half-timbered building from the 15th century.
- 6 Widdumhof, Kirchstraße 24. Since the 13th century in the possession of the Bebenhausen monastery, the farm served the maintenance of the parish. In the 16th century the farm passed to Jörg Minner (d. 1599).
- 7 Meuleshof, Kirchstraße 20. Initially owned by Mr. von Westheim, who gave the property to the Dominican convent Weiler near Esslingen around 1340. The Meule family has been the owner since 1650.
- 8 Junghansenhof, Kirchstrasse 8. Since 1391 in the possession of the lordship of Württemberg. In the 16th century it became the property of Jung Hans Minner. Owned by the Brust family since 1827.
