Kornwestheim is a small town in Strohgäu. The district town is to the north Ludwigsburg, in the south is the state capital Stuttgart.

The place was first called around 780 Westheim mentioned, from the 16th century he is called Kornwestheim known. In 1931 Kornwestheim received city rights, and since 1956 it has been a major district town. Part of the settlement belongs to Kornwestheim today Pattonville, which was built by the Americans in 1954 as a housing estate for members of the US Army.

The headquarters of the shoe factory was in Kornwestheim salamander, known mainly to children because of the cartoon character Lurchi, the former company premises are now used as a factory outlet.

  • 6 Widdumhof, Kirchstraße 24. Since the 13th century in the possession of the Bebenhausen monastery, the farm served the maintenance of the parish. In the 16th century the farm passed to Jörg Minner (d. 1599).
  • 7 Meuleshof, Kirchstraße 20. Initially owned by Mr. von Westheim, who gave the property to the Dominican convent Weiler near Esslingen around 1340. The Meule family has been the owner since 1650.
  • 8 Junghansenhof, Kirchstrasse 8. Since 1391 in the possession of the lordship of Württemberg. In the 16th century it became the property of Jung Hans Minner. Owned by the Brust family since 1827.
