The province Luang Prabang(ຫລວງ ພະ ບາງ) is in the northern part of Laos.
Regions
Administratively, the province is divided into 11 districts: Luang Prabang(ຫຼວງ ພະ ບາງ), Xieng Ngeun(ຊຽງ ເງິນ), Nan(ນານ), Park Ou(ປາກ ອູ), Nambak(ນ ້ ຳ ບາກ), Ngoi(ງອຍ), Pak Xeng(ປາກ ແຊງ), Phonxay(ໂພນ ໄຊ), Chomphet(ຈອມ ເພັດ), Viengkham(ວຽງ ຄຳ) and Phoukhoune(ພູ ຄູນ).

Other goals
- Waterfalls of Kuang Si approx. 30 km south of Luang Prabang
- The caves of Pak Ou. The Nam Ou flows into the Mekong about 30 km upstream from Luang Prabang. There are 2 caves, the upper (Tham Theung) and the lower cave (Tham Ting), not too big. In these caves there are hundreds of Buddha figures of various types, mostly donated by pilgrims who link a wish or a thank you to it. The goal of many tourists to get there by normal boat in about 2 hours. You pass a few small fishing villages, and a Laotian prison can also be seen on the right-hand side as you drive up. Otherwise: don't forget the flash.
- Ban Phanom, a village about 7 km from Luang Prabang. Known as a weaving village, you can see silk and other fabrics being made here. Fabrics, other self-made products, e.g. bags, are recommended as souvenirs.
- Nearby is the tomb of Henri Mouhot. The French crossed Indochina from 1858-1861, explored and made Thailand, Cambodia and Laos Angkor Wat known in Europe. He died here of malaria.
- Also the waterfalls of Did se are here at Nam Khan, which flows into the Mekong at Luang-Prabang.
- The golden temple Wat Pa Phon Phao is also nearby.
