The province Vientiane(ວຽງ ຈັນ) is in the northwest of Laos. With effect from January 13, 2006, large parts of the province of Saysomboun were again annexed to this province.

Administratively, the province is divided into 12 districts: Phonhong (ໂພນ ໂຮງ), Thoulakhom (ທຸ ລະ ຄົມ), Keo Oudom (ແກ້ວ ອຸ ດົມ), Kasy (ກາ ສີ), Vang Vieng (ວັງ ວຽງ), Feuang (ເຟືອງ), Xanakharm (ຊະ ນະ ຄາມ), Mad (ແມດ), Hinhurp (ວຽງ ຄຳ), Viengkham (ຫີນ ເຫີບ), Hom (ໝື່ນ) and Xaisomboun ໄຊ ສົມ ບູນ
