Central Macedonia - one of the 13 administrative regions of Greece. It is located in the northern part of the country and occupies the central part of the Greek historical land of Macedonia and part of the historical land of Macedona. It borders on the region to the west Western Macedonia, to the south-west with the Region Thessaly, to the east with the region East Macedonia and Thraceand from the north with Bulgaria and The Republic of Macedonia. To the south it is bounded by the Aegean Sea. At the eastern tip of the Chalkidiki peninsula, it borders the Autonomous District Athos.
Together with the Region of East Macedonia and Thrace, it forms the Administration Macedonia-Thrace.
The capital of the region is Thessaloniki.
