Malmo is a city in Sweden and is in the province Gentle.

Malmö is the third largest city in Sweden after Stockholm and Gothenburg. The Øresund Bridge, which was inaugurated in 2000, takes you from Malmö to Copenhagen, Denmark's capital, within 20 minutes. A contiguous urban area is now growing in the region, which is one of the most dynamic regions in Northern Europe.

By plane

Despite the relatively short lay-time of the ships, you can easily plan a stroll through town. From the gate of the port area - it is used together with the ferries - it is quite cheap to take a taxi to the city.

Numerous long-distance cycle routes run through Malmö:

The common route leads cyclists along directly under the bridgehead of the Örseund Bridge; a nice bike path with an interesting perspective of the bridge.
On foot
Hikers on the European long-distance footpath E6 cross the Øresund Bridge near Malmö (for which, however, you have to use the train).

trips
From the train station it is less than 20 minutes by train to Lund, the one with its cathedral and the open-air museum Cultures lures. Other worthwhile excursion destinations in the area are:
- Ystad, the city where you can follow in the footsteps of Henning Mankell's heroic novel, Commissioner Wallander. The shortest connection by car takes just under an hour along the driveway E65. If you choose the highways E22/E6 and the Riksväg 9 The journey takes about 30 minutes longer, but you have a beautiful tour along the south coast of Sweden and can make a worthwhile stopover in the small and friendly port city Trelleborg Insert for a late meal, lunch or afternoon coffee.
