The province Gentle (Danish, Norwegian and Swedish Skåne, Latin Scania) lies in the Swedish region Götaland. Southern Skåne is part of the transnational Oresund region.

language
The official language is Swedish. So-called Scandinavian (skånska or skånsk) is spoken in Skåne. Since Skåne was one of the Danish core countries until 1658, Skåne is still heavily influenced by Danish today. Today's standard Danish, for example, arose from the Zeeland and the Scandinavian. Scandinavian is still very different from normal Swedish (riksvenska).

By plane
Flight to Copenhagen - Kastrup, then continue with the Öresund train over the Öresund bridge to Skåne.
By train
Train to Copenhagen Central Station (for example with the night train from Freiburg / Basel), then continue with the Öresund train. The DB travels several times a day from Hamburg HBF to Copenhagen C with the train ferry via Puttgarden. The EC and ICE trains only need around 5 hours for the entire route. In the summer months of the last few years there was a direct night train connection from Berlin (only couchettes, no sleeping cars) from Berlin to Malmö, the so-called Berlin Night Express.
By boat
Ferry from Rostock to Trelleborg or Helsingborg, or from Travemünde to Trelleborg.
In the street
Arrival by car via Denmark and over the Öresund Bridge (toll) or from Helsingör by ferry to Helsingborg.

As in whole Sweden, so the bus connections are also very extensive in Skåne. Buses go to almost every medium-sized city. The prices are well below the German average. The trains of the Skånetrafik or the SJ (Svenska Järnvägen), the Swedish Railways. Some examples:
- Malmö - Copenhagen: approx. 45 min. (Øresund train)
- Malmö - Copenhagen Airport: approx. 20 min. (Øresund train)
- Malmo - Gothenburg: approx. 2 1/2 hours (with the high-speed train X 2000)
- Malmo - Stockholm: approx. 4 1/2 hours (with the high-speed train X 2000)
The "Öresund Rundt" ticket, which can be purchased at the train stations, is ideal for excursions. This means that all buses and trains in Skåne can be used on two consecutive days. This also applies to the greater Copenhagen area! A ride on the Helsingborg - Helsingör ferry is also included, as is the return trip across the Öresund Bridge. The ticket costs 249 SEK for the two days (as of 2015).
Tourist Attractions
In all of Skåne, like on Bornholm, there are so-called Hällristningar distributed. These are rock carvings from the Bronze Age.

A very beautiful, flat landscape with small villages. Well suited for hiking, there are many lakes on the Skane circular route and a hut with a fireplace about every 15km. The lakes are very clean and suitable for swimming.
