Mont-Dauphin is a French commune, located in the department of High mountains in the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.

Understand

The site of Mont-Dauphin, founded in 1693 by Vauban, is a stronghold intended to block access to the valleys of the Haute Durance and the Guil.

The stronghold is one of the twelve major sites of the Vauban network, listed in the Unesco World Heritage.

Mont-Dauphin is an enclave of the town ofEygliers ; it is therefore bordering only with this municipality.

Near Eygliers-Gare, Mont-Dauphin is signposted by following the departmental road 37, then the D 137.
