Since July 2008 the pilgrimage has been to Santiago de Compostela on the route from Koblenz-Stolzenfels to Trier completely marked as the so-called "Mosel-Camino". More than 1000 signs and stickers with the yellow scallop on a blue background now line the 180km long pilgrimage and hiking trail for which the St. James Brotherhood Trier e.V. has taken over the sponsorship.
In connection with the Elisabethpfad II (Eisenach - Marburg) and the Lahn-Camino (Marburg - Lahnstein) on both sides of the Moselle and its adjacent heights, the opportunity has been created to follow beautiful paths with magnificent views in east-west direction to Trier to the grave of the apostle Matthias and from there further on Santiago de Compostela to make a pilgrimage.
The converging ribs of the scallop on the signpost show the direction as an arrow.
