• Klausen is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Rhineland-Palatinate and particularly popular as a destination for motorcycle pilgrimages
• Klausen is 3 km north of the Moselle
• Closest major cities are Wittlich (about 10 km away, direct bus connection) and trier (25 km; by train you go via Wittlich).
• Neighboring municipalities are: Im Moselle valley: Minheim, Piesport, in the Eifel: Rievenich, Esch, Sehlem, Salm pipe, Altrich, Osann.

By train and bus

• Klausen is reached by bus route 304 Wittlich ZOB (not main station) and Thalfang approached via Heidenburg. The bus connection is bad on Saturdays, there is no bus on Sundays.
• The next train stop is Sehlem (bus connection with a change in Esch), the next IC stop Wittlich. However, there is only one bus connection from there with a change in Wittlich ZOB.
