Mühlbach(Italian: Rio di Pusteria) is a community in South-Tirol, it is located at the entrance to the Puster Valley Rienz.

The community Mühlbach has about 3,000 inhabitants, it consists of the place Mühlbach and the districts 1 Meransen, (Maranza), 2 Spinges, (Spinga) and 3 Vals (Valles) as well as several hamlets and farms. Well known is the 4 Fane Alm above Vals.

The 1 Mühlbach station is on the route of the Pustertalbahn, it comes from Franzensfeste and drives over Brunico to Dobbiaco and further after Lienz in East Tyrol

Mühlbach is on the SS49Pustertalstrasse, it comes from the A22Brenner motorway (approx. 5 km) and leads to Brunico (24 km) and further into Tauferer Ahrntal.
