The community Dobbiaco is a vacation spot in South TyroleanHochpustertal in Italy.
background
The municipality of Toblach consists of the election and Aufkirchen parliamentary groups and numerous smaller hamlets in the neighboring Hochpustertal.
The place Toblach itself consists of Alttoblach with the historical center around the church and located a little above the valley floor and from the younger Neutoblach to the north a little further down in the valley floor and directly on the Pustertalstrasse.
The tourism is an important branch of the economy in the village: The municipality states almost 500,000 overnight stays per year with 6,300 guest beds.

By plane
The closest airports are in Bolzano and the Innsbruck Airport, each about a good hour's drive. Other airports are located in Verona and in Munich (approx. 3 - 3.5 hours by car);
By train
The 1 Dobbiaco railway station is located on the Pustertal Railway (Innichen - Franzensfeste) and on the Drautalbahn Franzensfeste – Brunico - San Candido - Lienz (Austria / East Tyrol).
The train station in Franzensfeste also has long-distance connections (Intercity) to Germany.
The station is located in Neutoblach and was built by the architect Wilhelm von Flattich (1826-1900) with wall decorations in Art Nouveau style.

About the Brenner route (A22 Brenner motorway (toll) to the Brixen / Vahrn (Pustertal) exit, and then on the Pustertalsstrasse (State road SS49-E66) further into the Hochpustertal (distance from the motorway exit Brixen / Pustertal approx. 60 km).
About the Felbertauern route and Lienz in East Tyrol (A), on the state road (B100-E66) to Alta Pusteria and to Toblach.

Tourist Attractions
- 1 Parish Church of St. John the Baptist in Alttoblach .: the foundations date from the Romanesque period. The church was built in the Baroque period from 1764 to 1774.
- 2 Autumn Castle (at the church). Origins in a medieval defense tower, and expanded as a residence in the 16th century.
- Three Peaks Nature Park House, Toblach, Dolomitenstrasse 1, 39034 Dobbiaco (in the Grand Hotel Toblach cultural center). Insights into the natural world around Toblach with the Drei Zinnen nature park and the northeastern part of the Fanes-Senes-Braies nature park.Open: May - October and Christmas - March: Tue-Sat 9.30 a.m.-12.30 p.m., 2.30 p.m.-6 p.m. July, August: also Sun. Thurs. until 10 p.m.
- The composer Gustav Mahler spent his summer vacation here from 1908 to 1910. They remember him Gustav Mahler rooms (Visits Tuesday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and Gustav Mahler's composing house in the wildlife park. (Viewing Fri-Wed)
