The Byzantine church, with a closed porch and a single octagonal tower placed on a square base above the nave, has whitewashed walls and is surrounded by two belts: one of brick located just below the eaves and another, below, superimposed with arches and columns. . The iconostasis has an ornamental wooden sculpture and is polished with gold leaf. The interior painting is attributed to Gregory the painter and his son John and was made between 1756-1757. Under the Crucifixion Cross are the portraits of the voivode Matei Basarab and of Ștefan, the metropolitan of Wallachia, a work considered to be a masterpiece of Romanian painting.
