Eat
Unsurprisingly for a coastal area, seafood can be the highlight of the menu. Traditional Southern Thai dishes include lighter than popular coconut milk curries associated with Thailand: dry, Malaysian-influenced Penang curry and Indian-influenced massaman (Islamic) curry with potatoes zucchini and nuts.
A variety of international cuisines can be found here in the resort towns, where millions of foreign tourists arrive each year and where many expats live. Tourism has also brought in migrants from other parts of Thailand, and brought with them the food of their homeland.
