Nerja is a city in the Málaga Province in the Spanish region Andalusia, it is due to the Costa del Sol.

Nerja is a down-to-earth seaside resort on the Mediterranean east of Málaga. The place is located on an extended stretch of coast that bears the name "Balcón de Europa". The city emerged from a settlement built in 1655.

By plane

The nearest airport is in Málaga. There is a direct bus from 1 Nerja bus station at the Avenida Pescia to the 2 Málaga bus station in downtown Málaga (Avenida de Manuel Agustin Heredia). From here there is one Shuttle bus to the airport.

By train

Nerja has no train connection. The nearest train station is in Málaga.

By bus

Regular buses run from Nerja to various cities, see for more details AS A (also in German). The bus station is on Avenida Pescia. Tel. 902 422 242. There is also an inner city bus route, a connection to the Nerja caves and a connection to Maro.

In the street

From Malaga you drive on the coastal highway Autopista del Mediterráneo A-7 (Symbol: ASkm 295) towards Almeria. Nerja is 56 km from Málaga.

The cultural Ruta de Al-Idrisi ("In the footsteps of al-Idrisi") honors the cartographer al-Idrisi. The path begins in Marbella and ends in Granada.

By boat

The nearest sea port is Málaga. Cruise ships also anchor there. Anyone who arrives with their own yacht can in Caletta (approx. 16 km) or La Herduras (Marina del Este, approx. 15 km).
