Newfoundland and Labrador is the northeasternmost province Canada. It's almost twice as big as that United Kingdom.

The province consists mainly of part of the peninsula Labrador as well as the island, rich in fjords and lakes Newfoundland with its many smaller offshore islands.

By boat

Of 3 North Sydney in Nova Scotia there are 2 ferry connections to Newfoundland, namely to 4 Channel-Port-aux-Basques (Travel time about 7 hours) and after 5 Argentia (Travel time about 16 hours). Labrador is by ferry from 6 Blanc-Sablon to 7 St. Barbel Connected to Newfoundland (journey time around 105 minutes). Ferries connect the towns on the north coast of Labrador as well as on the south coast of Newfoundland.

By car

The ferries to Newfoundland and Labrador also carry cars. There is a road link from Baie-Comeaux in the province of Quebec on State Road 389 to Labrador City in Labrador. From there the Trans Labrador Highway (Route 500) leads via Churchill Falls to Happy Valley - Goose Bay. The Labrador Coastal Drive (Route 510) leads from there to Red Bay and L'Anse-au-Claire and to the ferry in Blanc Sablon, QC. About 300 km east of Happy Valley - Goose Bay, Route 516 branches off from the LCD to Cartwright.

A car, RV, or motorcycle is highly recommended. In Newfoundland there is a bus service from St. John's to the ferry to Channel-Port-aux -Basques. There are a number of tour operators that can be used to tour the province.
