The nuraghe of Santu Antine is a multi-lobed nuraghe; the oldest part is made up of the central keep, while the outer trilobate wall, which reaches the height of the first level, dates back to a later period. The access to the structure is oriented towards the south, the internal environment of the first level of the central keep has three niches, but - very rare - they are made communicating with each other by a circular corridor carved into the thickness of the wall.

The staircase, arranged in a clockwise direction, leads to the second level completing 360 ° of extension. The staircase also reached a third level which no longer exists; the remaining height of the keep reaches 17.5 meters. The nuraghe has two wells, one in the pavement of a cell, the other in the courtyard.

One of the galleries inside the nuragic palace of Santu Antine Adjacent to the nuraghe is the village, with the classic circular huts of the nuragic period and with rectangular houses from the Roman period that testify to the reuse of the structure in subsequent periods to the nuragic one. .

The nuraghe has also been studied several times from an archaeoastronomic point of view, and these studies have shown how its structure is oriented following the solstices. These claims were supported, among others, by the archaeologist Ercole Contu and the archaeostronomists Mauro Peppino Zedda, Juan Antonio Belmonte and Michael Hoskin. In particular, Hoskin, a science historian and lecturer emeritus at Churchill college in Cambridge, called Santu Antine "the most sophisticated dry stone monument on the earth's surface"
