Olbersdorf is a community in Zittau Mountains.

background

The municipality of Olbersdorf was an important industrial municipality. Today it is best known for the Olbersdorfer See leisure oasis, which was created at the State Garden Show in 1999 and where Xterra Germany also takes place.

Olbersdorf forms with the mountain communities Oybin and Jonsdorf and the community Bertsdorf-Hörnitz the administrative community Olbersdorf, half of whose inhabitants live in Olbersdorf.

By plane

The nearest airport is that Dresden, which is about 100 km northwest of the municipality.

By train

You came from by train Dresden, cottbus, Gorlitz and Liberec come to Zittau via regional train connections.

From Zittau you can then take the steam-powered one Narrow gauge railway to Olbersdorf. You can get off at the Olbersdorf Niederdorf stop or at the Olbersdorf Oberdorf and Bertsdorf train stations.

Arrival by car is via the A4 motorway. At the junction Bautzen-East you drive over on the developed road Löbau to Zittau. From there, follow the signs for "Olbersdorf" or "Zittauer Gebirge".
