Oldenzaal has a station on the Hengelo-Bad Bentheim line. Every half hour there is a train to Hengelo v.v. On top of that, a train runs every hour between Hengelo and Bad Bentheim.

Two long-distance hiking trails run through this municipality. It pedlar path and the Noaberpad.
The Markramerpad is part of the Handelsweg and the European walking route E11. The E11 runs from the Hague to the east, currently the border Poland/Lithuania. The route comes from Deurningen, in the municipality Hengelo, runs through the center of Oldenzaal and continues south-east towards Gildehaus in the Grafschaft Bentheim in Germany.
The Noaberpad runs from Nieuweschans nasty Emmerich. On site, the route of Ootmarsum will enter the municipality Dinkelland, runs along the Lutte and continues to Glanerbrug, near Enschede.
