Cultural(ii) (iii)Located in the mountainous region of west-central Korea, this serial property includes eight archaeological sites dating from AD 475-660. J.-C: the Gongsanseong Fortress and the Royal Tombs of Songsan-ri linked to the Ungjin Capital (present-day Gongju), the Busosanseong Fortress and the Gwanbuk-ri Administrative Buildings, the Jeongnimsa Temple, the Royal Tombs of Neungsan-ri and the city ​​walls of Naseong linked to the capital Sabi (current Buyeo), the royal palace of Wanggung-ri and the Mireuksa temple in Iksan, linked to the second capital Sabi. Together, they symbolize the last period of the kingdom of Baekje - one of the first three kingdoms on the Korean peninsula (18 BC to 660 AD) - during which exchanges existed technological, religious (Buddhism), cultural and artistic considerable between the ancient kingdoms of East Asia in Korea, China and Japan.
