Urban centers
- Aveiro - Capital of the district of the same name overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
- Belmonte - It has a castle built in the Middle Ages and in a fairly good state of conservation.
- Castelo Branco - Not far from the Spanish border, it is the main administrative and commercial center of Beira Baixa, a region of arid fields.
- Coimbra - The city of Coimbra is famous for its University, founded in 1290, among the first in Europe. Today it is the largest university center in the country.
- Covilhã - Municipality located in the district of Castelo Branco.
- Figueira da Foz - Port city and an important seaside tourism center at the mouth of the Mondego river.
- Look - With its 1060 meters of altitude it is the highest city in Portugal. It is part of the mountainous region of Beira Alta, of which it is the main town, in a beautiful location on the north side of the Serra da Estrêla.
- Marinha Grande - Municipality located in the district of Leiria.
- Montemor-o-Velho - Municipality located in the Coimbra district. .
- Pinhel - Municipality in the Guarda district, whose main monument is the Pinhel Castle.
- Sabugal - It belongs to the historical region of Beira Alta in an area of scenic and historical interest characterized by towns with ancient castles that played an important role in defending the borders during the struggles with Spain.
- Seia - Municipality in the district of Guarda.
- Viseu - City of ancient origins and center of art of the Beira Alta in an agricultural area with characteristic old houses among fresh and gentle hills on the Paiva river.
Other destinations
- Fatima - In its surroundings there is the Sanctuary of Fatima, one of the most important Marian sanctuaries in the world, linked to the apparitions of the Madonna in 1917 to three little shepherds (Lúcia dos Santos, Francisco Marto and Giacinta Marto).
- Serra da Estrela - The largest mountain group in Portugal and includes the highest peak in mainland Portugal (~ 2,000 m).
- Vale do Côa - Famous for the rock art protected by theUNESCO.
