The beginning of industry in the Myszków district dates back to the end of the 19th century. The legacy of the past is accompanied by the dynamic development of the new economy as well as the creative invention and extraordinary entrepreneurship of the people living here.

The economy of the Myszków district is not uniform. Both Myszków and the entire region are historically associated with various types of industry. Before World War II, the industry of machines for the railway, mining, paper, textile and household goods industries developed in Myszków. In the 90s, alongside large companies, small and medium-sized enterprises operating, among others, in the food, footwear, clothing, haberdashery, installation, recycling, etc. industries have developed rapidly. Services and trade have also become an important branch of the economy.

60.8% of the inhabitants of the Myszków district are in the working age, 16.8% in the pre-working age, and 22.4% of the inhabitants are in the post-working age. About 28% of the county's budget in 2016 was spent on education, 18.5% on communication and communication, and the remaining money, among others on public administration and social assistance.

At the end of 2017, unemployment in the Myszków district was about 9.2%, which was the lowest such result in the history of the district.
