Nowy Tomyśl Poviat - poviat in Poland, in Greater Poland Voivodeship), created in 1999 as part of an administrative reform. The city is the seat of the poviat Nowy Tomyśl.

The poviat is located in the western part of the voivodeship, in the Poznań Lake District. The A2 motorway runs through the poviat Warsaw – Berlin and the parallel national road No. 92 and the Warsaw-Berlin main line and a side line Zbąszyń – WolsztynThe dominant element of the landscape is Sandr Nowotomyski - a vast and flat area of the largest village Greater Poland the outwash plain. The area of the poviat is 1,011.67 km², with 71,737 inhabitants here, so the population density is 70.91 people / km². 34,650 inhabitants (including 18,098 women) live in cities, ie the poviat's urbanization is 48.35%. The villages are inhabited by 37,087 people (including 18,708 women).
Nature
There are numerous natural monuments and nature reserves in the Nowy Tomyśl district. In 4 nature reserves: "Glińskie Mountains", "Great Forest", "Urbanowo", Reserve on Lake Zgierzynieckie for them. Bolesław Papi rare specimens of fauna and flora can be observed.
Tourism
The poviat is characterized by valuable tourist and landscape values. To a large extent, the development of tourism is facilitated by:
- rail connections (including from Frankfurt and Warsaw),
- road connections (a new section of the A2 motorway running along the poviat has recently been opened),
- hiking and biking trails (their creation and the organization of many bike rallies contributed to raising the tourist rank of the poviat),
- constantly developing gastronomic and hotel base,
- a large number of agritourism farms (they offer guests a very attractive holiday among forests, fields and lakes).
Numerous cultural events take place in the poviat, incl. The Chmielo-Wikliniarski Fair in Nowy Tomyśl, the Koźlarskie Biesiady in Zbąszyń or the Bread Festival in Lwówek.
Economy
The Nowy Tomyśl Poviat is known for the cultivation of hops and wicker, which depend on natural and historical conditions. In the second half of the 19th century, hop from Nowy Tomyśl became known throughout Europe and was a source of income and the basis of prosperity for many inhabitants of the city and its vicinity. In Nowy Tomyśl, there is the Wicker and Hops Museum, where you can learn about the centuries-old achievements in this field.
