Skierniewice poviat - poviat in Poland (in the northeastern part of of the Lodz voivodeship), created in 1999 as part of an administrative reform. Its seat is in the city Skierniewice. However, Skierniewice itself is not part of this poviat, as they are a city with poviat rights, ie they constitute a separate poviat in themselves.

It is located in the area of ​​the Łowicz-Błońsk Plain, Łódzkie Hills and the Rawska Plateau. The poviat's area is 755 km².
The poviat consists of the following rural communes: Bolimów Głuchów, Godzianów, Kowiesy, Lipce Reymontowskie, Maków, Nowy Kawęczyn, Skierniewice and Słupia.

As of June 30, 2012, the poviat has a total of 38,252 inhabitants (which constitutes 15.13% of the voivodeship's population, i.e. 2,528,632)

The agriculture is dominated by the specialization of agricultural and vegetable farms, fruit farms, livestock farming, dairy production, and herb cultivation.
Agricultural land covers 73% of the area, including 3.5% of fruit crops. In Skierniewice there is the Institute of Pomology and Floriculture named after prof. Szczepan Pieniążek - the largest research center in Poland in the field of horticulture, beekeeping and ornamental plants.
The forest cover is 19.5% - in the north-east. parts of the poviat have a remnant of the old one Bolimowska Primeval Forest and Puszcza Mariańskawhich has been protecting since 1986 Bolimów Landscape Park.
There are several nature reserves in the district, including the Ruda Chlebacz nature reserve.

It is an interesting town Głuchów (Skierniewice County) - a village in the Łódzkie voivodship, in the Skierniewice poviat, in the Głuchów commune. There is a historic station in Głuchów Rogowska Narrow Gauge Railway. The line connects Głuchów with Rogow and Rawa Mazowiecka and it is run by tourist trains in the season. In the village there is a late Baroque parish church. st. Wenceslas built in 1786 with a two-tower façade, a neo-Gothic belfry from 1821 and a neoclassical presbytery from 1824. 5 km to the south flows the Rawka river whose bed and valley from its source to the mouth (approx. 97 km long) are protected as Rawka nature reserve.

Numerous tourist routes run through the Skierniewice poviat, including bicycle routes "Old manors around Skierniewice" and the route "In the footsteps of Reymont" and the Łódź Horse Trail.
