In the years 1975-1998 the village administratively belonged to the then Skierniewice Province.

It was founded at the intersection of former routes with Leczyca down Rawa Mazowiecka and z Piotrków Trybunalski down Skierniewice.

Approx. 5 km to the south flows the Rawka river whose bed and valley from the source to the mouth (approx. 97 km long) are protected as Rawka nature reserve.
