Konin (German also: Konin) is a historic city in the polish Voivodeship Greater Poland. The city lies on the southern edge of the Kuyavian Lake District in the historical region Greater Poland in the Kalischer country at the Warta. This is where the Slesin Canal in the river. The city is idyllically situated between wooded moraine hills and lakes. According to a survey by the daily newspaper Rzeczpospilita it is one of the most livable cities in Poland. The place is at the southern junction of the Romanesque Piast Way.
