background

The A1 was built in the Third Polish Republic. Today the A4 is almost completely expanded. A section near Częstochowa is still being expanded in 2019.

In Poland there is no vignette requirement for cars under 3.5 tons. There are, however, a few toll booths. You can pay in cash or with a credit card. Vehicles with a total weight of more than 3.5 tonnes must carry a box with them and also pay a toll on the toll-free sections. The rest areas are all very spacious, well-kept and clean.
