Pretzsch a district of the city Bad Schmiedeberg lies on the Elbe and on the edge of the Dübener Heide in the east of the state Saxony-Anhalt.

In the street
Pretzsch is on federal highway 182 Torgau–Wittenberg and via highway 128 from Bad Düben at the B 2 Leipzig above Bad Schmiedeberg reachable. If you want to reach Pretzsch from the east side of the Elbe, you have to use the car ferry. The next permanent bridges over the Elbe are only in Torgau and Wittenberg.

Steeple
- 1 Renaissance castle from the 16th century. The castle was an orphanage as early as the 19th century and is now home to a children's home again.
- Wieck's house by 1725
- Late Gothic 2 St. Nikolai Church, destroyed by Swedish bombardment in the Thirty Years War and rebuilt by 1652. It was given its present form in the 18th century based on plans by Daniel Pöppelmann, including the baroque tower dome.

Kurhaus in Bad Schmiedeberg
- Bad Schmiedeberg (5 km to the west, L 128) - located in the middle of the Dübener Heide; Art Nouveau Kurhaus and Heilbrunnen. The Kaiser Wilhelm Tower in the adjacent city park.
- Dommitzsch (10 km south, B 182) - from Pretzsch the first town in not far away Saxony. Dommitzsch is located on the eastern edge of the Düben Heath and not far from the banks of the Elbe; former sound works.
- Jessen (16 km northeast, car ferry across the Elbe) - small town in the Pre-flaming; historic market square and Jessen Castle.
- Kemberg (17 km northwest, via Bad Schmiedeberg) - small town on the northern edge of the Dübener Heide; Church of Our Dear Women.
