Raʾs Zaʿtar - Raʾs Zaʿtar

Ras Za'tar (also Ras Za'atar, Arabic:رأس زعتر‎, Raʾs Zaʿtar, „Thyme cape") is a egyptian Cape and a Diving area at the southern tip of Bureika / Bareika Bay on the east side of the Raʾs Muḥammad National Park. South of the cape, the underwater world is richer than in the bay. On the reef walls there are sea fans, black corals, soft corals and sea anemones. Residents include lionfish, malabar grouper, mackerel, barracudas, tuna, and glass fish. Occasionally one comes across a turtle or a ray.
