Recke (Westphalia) is a community in Tecklenburger Land.
background
The place is first mentioned in documents in the 11th century. The beginnings of the place go back at least in the 9th century. The place is known for its churches, one of which can even be traced back to the 9th century, and the nature reserves, including the Recker Moor.
getting there
By plane
The nearest airport is the Munster Osnabrück Airport
(IATA: FMO), 35 km south). From there it is best to continue by car or taxi.
By train
Recke lies with a train station 1 on the route of the Tecklenburger Nordbahn (Rheine – Recke – Osnabrück). There is currently no passenger service on this route (reactivation is being discussed). The nearest train station with regular services is initially in Ibbenbüren, 12 km away (Westfalenbahn Bielefeld – Osnabrück – Bad Bentheim and Hanover – Minden – Osnabrück – Rheine). From there it's about half an hour by bus.
By bus
There are regular connections with Ibbenbueren (Line R26, every hour, travel time 25 minutes) and Osnabrück (Line S10, every hour, travel time 55 minutes).
In the street
The community can only be reached by road. The best national route leads from the

- 7 Holy Sea nature reserve - Heupen - The nature reserve covers around 260ha. In the center are the two lakes Erdfallsee and Großes Heiliges Meer. The latter gives its name and is the largest natural lake in Westphalia. Hiking trails lead through the area, which extends over the places Recke (Westphalia) and Hops extends. Parking is available near the Heiliges Meer Biological Station on Landstrasse 504.

The forest swimming pool is an idyllic natural swimming lake with a water surface of over 10,000 square meters, its own island and a large lawn for sunbathing. A water trampoline, several surfboards and two pedal boats ensure bathing fun. Integrated into the lake are five 50 meter lanes and a diving board with a 1 and 3 meter diving board. There is a separate children's pool with a slide and the large sand landscape with a water pump right next to the children's pool. The 2 beach volleyball fields, the two table tennis tables or the table football are ideal for sporting activities. The forest swimming pool can also be explored by pedal boat or surfboard. The kiosk provides the necessary catering with typical snacks, sweets and drinks. From the terrace you have a beautiful view of the lake.
