Reinbek is a city east of Hamburg, located on the Bille, which is dammed up here to form the mill pond. Reinbek includes the districts of Alt-Reinbek, Hinschendorf, Schönningstedt, Neuschönningstedt, Ohe with canned ham and the younger Krabbenkamp development area. The next largest directly adjacent metropolitan areas are the Hamburg districts Bergedorf and Lohbrugge.

The Hamburg-Berlin railway runs through Reinbek (without a stop in Reinbek), the next long-distance train station is Hamburg-Bergedorf. From there or from Hamburg city center, Reinbek can be reached with the S-Bahn line S 21 (approx. 25 minutes travel time from Hamburg main station). You can also take the S-Bahn from Reinbek to the neighboring towns Wohltorf and Aumühle , regional trains continue to run via Hamburg-Bergedorf Schwarzenbek and Books.
