Reus is a city in the Catalonian province Tarragona, it is the capital of the comarca Baix Camp.

Reus is a city on the Costa Daurada. It is only a few kilometers inland and is therefore far less touristy than the places on the coast. Reus is also somewhat in the shadow of the larger neighboring city Tarragona. Reus is known as the birthplace of Antoni Gaudí, probably the most important architect of the Modernism

Modernism

  • 2 Casa Navàs, built 1901-1908. On the facade was a tower that was destroyed in the Spanish Civil War.
  • 3 Casa Pinyol, since 2010 the seat of the Catalan CDC party
  • 4 Casa Rull, once a notary's house, owned by the city since 1925, is used as an administration building.
  • 5 Casa Gasull, next to Casa Rull
  • The 6 Pere Mata Institute is a psychiatric hospital. It was built from 1897-1912, the architect was Lluis Domenech i Montaner, the style is similar to that of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i de Sant Pau in Barcelona. The building complex is still used as a hospital, one of the pavilions can be visited

  • 7 Esglesia Sat Pere, late Gothic church, built in the 16th century. Its bell tower is 12 m wide and 62 m high at the base.
  • 8  Santuario de Misericordia. The Church of Our Lady of Mercy was built in the 17th century in the Renaissance style.
