Ropa in Biecz
The Ropa is a mountain river and left tributary of the Wisłoka in Lesser Poland and the Subcarpathian in Poland. It is popular with canoeists and anglers.

The river has its source at Wysowa-Zdrój not far from the border with Slovakia in the Lower Beskids. The Ropa then initially flows in a north-westerly direction, passing through the Klimkówka Reservoir and later in an easterly direction until it flows into the Wisłoka. One of the first oil production areas in the world was located in the Ropa river valley in the 19th century. The Polish name for crude oil is named after the river name.
