It is undoubtedly one of the birthplaces of the advanced civilizations in Central America. The oldest finds go back to 2500 BC. back. But from 1100 BC. this place became the capital of the Olmec culture. Already 200 years later the city was destroyed, but rebuilt this city remained a cultural center until 400 BC.
