Sepang is a district in the Malaysian state Selangor. He is known for hosting the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Malaysia, as well as the races for the motorcycle road world championship. Sepang is located at the southern end of the Multimedia Super Corridor, a special economic zone, which is to develop into the technology and economic center of the country in the future.

places

  • Salak Tinggi - The capital of the district is also known as "Airport City" and is not far from the airport and the famous race track
  • Sepang - Smaller town that gives the district its name.
  • Cyberjaya - The planned city, inaugurated in 1997, is to become Malaysia's Silicon Valley.
  • Sungai Pelek - Nice little town. There is a dragon fruit plantation and several restaurants serving Chinese Fuzhou cuisine
  • Bagan Lalang - The small town with a beach offers some accommodation and recreation. This is one of the closest beaches to Kuala Lumpur. Here there is the palm tree known from Dubai in small format. The bungalows of the "Golden Palm Tree Sea Villas & Spa" were built on the water and form a palm tree when viewed from the air.

Other goals

  • Kuala Lumpur International Airport - Malaysia's most modern and busiest airport
  • Sepang International Circuit - Well-known race track on which a Formula 1 race is held once a year. The Sepang circuit is right next to the airport. If you want to go straight to a race, you have an uncomplicated approach. The course is opposite the LCCT. If you arrive with Air Asia, you only need to take a taxi "around the corner" (approx. 2 km) - provided you find a taxi driver who, after waiting in line for a long time, only wants to drive such a short distance. Anyone arriving at the main terminal of the KLIA definitely needs a taxi. Also for driving from Kuala Lumpur The car is ideal, which then costs around RM 70-80.

By plane

As already mentioned, it lies Kuala Lumpur International Airport in the heart of the district. Whoever lands here is already "on site". You can then take a taxi to the desired destination. The motor racing track is next to the airport. If you land at the low-cost airline terminal (LCCT), you could almost walk - which is not very attractive on the edge of the highway, however.

Tourist Attractions

accommodation

There are several hotels in the area around the international airport. Further accommodations are listed in the individual localities.

Cheap

  • Tune Hotel LCCT - A branch of the budget hotel chain Tune Hotels, which works together with Air Asia, is located directly at the entrance to the airport's LCCT terminal.
