Petaling Jaya(Petaling Jaya) - briefly from the locals PJ called, is a city in the Malaysian province Selangor. It is located west of Kuala Lumpur in the urban corridor between the state capital and the sea Port sound. Like its neighbors, Petaling Jaya has grown considerably and is now seamlessly moving into its neighboring cities.

background

The development of the place began in 1952, when an overpopulation of the nearby state capital Kuala Lumpur became apparent. So the construction work began on approx. 800 houses around an area which is known today as PJs "Old Town". In 1954 the place got its own administration, but was still part of Kuala Lumpur. With its independence as federal territory from 1959, Petaling Jaya finally became an independent city in the state of Selangor. In the period that followed, the city continued to grow. It has no naturally grown districts but is in sections (seksyen) divided into an additional designation such as S. (East PJ), SS (Center and western), PJU (north) - too Damansara and PJS (South PJ). SS is an acronym for "Subang-Sungei Way". In the last decades of the 20th century the region continued to grow and was administratively redistributed in the spring of 1997. So the sections 12 to 19 migrated to the neighboring one Subang Jaya and are now under the management of the Subang Jaya Municipal Council, short: MPSJ.

Districts

As a satellite city, Petalingt Jaya has emerged and grown bit by bit on the drawing board. Location descriptions and addresses therefore read more like an extract from the real estate cadastre. Nevertheless, the system should be explained and used here for orientation and finding places.
