Xinjiang - autonomous region in China. It is a large, sparsely populated area, covering about 1/6 of the country. Xinjiang is adjacent to Tibet south facing position, with the provinces Qinghai and Gansu to the southeast, with Mongolia from the east, Russia from the north, a Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and controlled by India areas Kashmir from the west.
