With its extensive sandy beach, Skegness has become a popular seaside resort on the English North Sea coast thanks to its rail connection; the city is also called "Blackpool the east coast "known.
getting there
By plane
Humberside Airport(IATA: HUY) is located around 70 km west of Grimsby, but is rarely served by regular services. Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield(IATA: DSA) is not much better. Alternatively after London Stansted Airport(IATA: STN) and continue on the M11 as described under "By ship". Also comes into consideration Midlands Airport near Nottingham, which is served by various low-cost airlines (also from Berlin).
By train
Skegness is the end point of the railway line Nottingham - Grantham - Sleaford - Skegness.
By bus
In the street
From London best over Peterborough, Spalding, Boston (until there A16) and further always close to the North Sea coast on the A52.
By boat
Ferry connection from Rotterdam or Zeebrugge to Kingston upon Hull with P&O Ferries. From there via Grimsby and continue on the A1031. Alternatively: ferry from Hook of Holland to Harwich, then over Colchester and Braintree to the M11, on this to Cambridge, continue after Peterborough, then on the A16 via Boston.

- Church Farm Museum. The only open air museum in Lincolnshire.
- Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve. With bird watching, in the south.
- The clock tower Clock tower, near the statue of Jolly Fishermanwho has represented the city in advertising for over 100 years.

- Not very far away Louth, an attractive market town. The coast from the Humber Estuary to the Wash offers wide sandy beaches and several nature reserves, but also large mobile home colonies. Grimsby has an attractive fishing museum, Boston an impressive church.
