  • Remains of the city fortifications - The only defensive tower is still that 2 Owl Tower receive. The building with a view can be climbed. If required, the tower key can be obtained from the tourist information.

Tip: The castle can be reached on foot from the market square via Burgstrasse. Keep to the right at the main road (B 487). After a few meters, a stepped path branches off to the left to the Schlossberg (around 600 m easy).

  • Reichenstein castle ruins - The is a nice hiking destination 4 Reichenstein castle ruinswhich can be found about 10 km north of the city. It is possible to travel to Reichenbach by car. From here it is an easy 2 km with almost 100 meters in altitude to the keep of the castle ruins. From the tower you have a nice view of the valley towards the valley Hessisch-Lichtenau.
