The community Stemwede lies in a circle Minden-Lübbecke. The municipality was created through a political reform in 1972 and consists of different districts. Stemweder Berg

-The Stemweder Berg (also called Stemmer Berge; due to its several mountain tops it should actually be called Stemweder Berge) is up to 181.4 m above sea level. NN high mountain range on the border between North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony and the northernmost and smallest low mountain range in Germany. At the same time, the ridge is assigned to the natural area "Ems-Hunte-Geest and Dümmer-Geestniederung", which forms part of the North German Plain and is mainly located in Lower Saxony. Like the neighboring municipality of Stemwede, it got its name from the medieval Free County of Stemwede.

Oppenwehe district
