Brockum is a village in the district Diepholz. The place belongs to Joint municipality of the Altes Amt Lemförde and is 3½ km east of Lemförde.
The quiet place near the Lower Saxony-North Rhine-Westphalia border is off the beaten track. Large families will find two large farmhouses in Brockum that have been remodeled into holiday homes and offer excellent value for money. Because of the many paths in the surrounding area that are closed to car traffic, Brockum is also a magnet for (cycling) hikers.
The place only attracts national attention in October, when the annual one is here Brockum wholesale market is organized, a mixture of a fair and an agricultural fair.

Brockum is located in the Dümmer Nature Park, which extends north-south from Drentwede to Stemwede and has extensive moorland areas along the Hunte.
Brockum is very old, it has existed since at least 969. The name means "settlement on the quarry". As a trading location (fair) and because of its two windmills and its customs post, Brockum already had a certain importance in the early modern period. It has had its own parish since 1661. In 1673 the Rittmeister von Glaen established an estate here that was of great importance for local politics. In 1822 a fire devastated large parts of the village.

There are two bus stops in Brockum:

In the street
Brockum is located at the intersection of Rahdener Straße and Zur Sette. The closest federal highways are the B51 (west), B214 (north), B239 (east) and B65 (south). If you come from the north on the A1, it is best to leave at Vechta; those coming from the south take the Bramsche exit.

The place is so small that everything can be done on foot. Even in its greatest extent (west-east direction) Brockum measures only 2 km, which can be easily done in a 25-minute walk.
