background

Sternberg town hall

As is customary in the sparsely populated Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, several communities around Sternberg have been merged into one office that takes on joint administration. In detail, these are the cities of Sternberg and Brüel as well as the smaller communities Blankenberg, Borkow, Dabel, Hohen Pritz, Tempzin Monastery, Kobrow, Kuhlen-Wendorf, Mustin, Weitendorf and Witzin.

The Sternberger Seenland is a hilly terminal moraine landscape that formed after the glaciers retreated after the last ice age. Around 90 smaller and larger lakes have formed in the depressions. The largest lake is the Großer Sternberger See, which extends directly to the east and north of the city.
