On Gologone - Su Gologone

On Gologone is a karst spring located in Sardinia.

To know

A short stream originates from the source which feeds the Cedrino river. The water comes out of a crack in the limestone rock, which goes underground to the depth currently explored by speleologists of 135 meters. The maximum lean flow rate of the spring was measured in 1995 at 60 liters per second while the full flow rate is estimated at 8,000 liters. With an average flow rate of 500 liters of water per second, it is the most important spring in Sardinia.

By car

• Take the SS 131 d.c.n. and continue to the "Lula-Bitti-Dorgali" exit, then continue to Dorgali. Arriving at the junction with the SS 129 Galtellì-Nuoro, continue straight on towards Dorgali until the exit for Oliena, then turn right and take the SP 46. Continue until you see the signs for Su Gologone, once you have seen the directions, turn left and take a municipal road. Continue to your destination.

On boat

From the ports of Olbia- White Island, Golfo Aranci, Tortolì-Arbatax, Porto Torres is Cagliari.

How to get around

From Oliena or from the SP 32 which connects the SS 131 d.c.n. Nuoro-Olbia with Dorgali, take the SP 46. Continue until you see the signs for Su Gologone, once you have seen the signs, take a municipal road. Continue to your destination. Leave your car in the parking lot and continue on foot to enter the park.
