Geographical notes
Among the beaches of the Adriatic coast and the mighty peaks of the eastern wall of the Gran Sasso, the hilly Teramo boasts a great landscape richness, as well as numerous small and large ridge centers which still retain, for the most part, walls, fortifications, castles.
In addition to hiking and mountain skiing activities, the area offers the appeal of the art city of Teramo, its main center, but also of Campli or the fortress-city of Civitella del Tronto. There is no shortage of large religious complexes: in addition to the Cathedral of Teramo, the churches of Santa Maria di Propezzano, San Clemente al Vomano, Santa Maria di Ronzano, San Giovanni al Mavone are noteworthy.

Urban centers
- Teramo - Ancient city with an important historical center, it boasts a splendid Cathedral which is one of the best expressions of Abruzzo's religious architecture.
- Campli - Its important historical center, with churches, palaces, squares, fortifications makes it a place of indisputable charm.
- Civitella del Tronto - Perched on a ridge, it offers us the spectacle of its fortifications which are among the best preserved and the largest in Europe; it was the last stronghold to surrender, when the rest of the Bourbon kingdom had already been conquered from Italy.
Other destinations
- Castles - The town is part of the most beautiful villages in Italy and is famous for the production of ceramics, a tradition that dates back to the beginning of the Renaissance.
- Gran Sasso Island of Italy - At the foot of the Gran Sasso, it is a renowned holiday resort; its small historic center is characteristic. The nearby Sanctuary of San Gabriele del'Addolorata is a destination for pilgrimages.
