Val di Mello is a valley of the Lombardy, in the province of Sondrio.

To know
It is one of the most popular international climbing centers, due to its characteristic rocky walls in a wild and unique landscape. This is why it is called the "Little Yosemite". In January 2009 the Lombardy Region recognized the Val di Mello as Natural reserve, thus becoming the largest protected area in Lombardy.
Geographical notes
Val di Mello starts from the village of Saint martin and ends against the group of Mount Disgrazia, precisely against its antimax or Monte Pioda.

By car
State road SS 38 dello Stelvio up to Ardenno, then take the SP 9 of the Val Masino. After 13 km you will arrive at Saint martin di Val Masino, where there is a large car park and the tourist office.

How to get around
From Saint martin, in the summer period, a bus[link not working] which connects the Val di Mello (cost € 2). For info: 39 334 3999708.
What see
- 1 Bidet of the Countess. Pond with emerald green water.
- 2 Ferro waterfall.
- Durango waterfall. In winter it turns into an icefall.
Itineraries
- Path Rome (for experienced hikers). The Val di Mello is crossed by this 54 km long Alta via, it is one of the most spectacular hiking trails of Alps: it also allows you to cross the Val Masino, covering the entire route in three or more days. It takes place between the high granite mountains, including the Badile, the Cengalo and the top of Castello, and ends at the foot of the Monte Disgrazia. Average altitude 2,500 m.

- Bouldering. More than 2000 passages are traced on the boulders of the Val di Mello.
