The Vennvorland joins that north High Fens and is therefore the northernmost foothills of the Eifel in North Rhine-Westphalia upstream. It is significantly lower than the plateau. It starts west in Belgium in the Eupener Land and continues to Germany. It includes the natural areas of the Vennfuß area and the Aachen hill country.
